A bag as a symbol of women’s power

A bag as a symbol of women’s power A bag can serve as a symbol of women’s power, and the bag of one of the most powerful and respected women of the XX century – Margaret Thatcher – is a bright proof of it. While her being on the post of the Prime-minister of Great Britain (1979—1990) the British press did not spare on commentaries about Margaret Thatcher’s bag. The journalists spoke about this elegant item as of a thing, that nearly possessed supernatural powers. Much time was spent by the British press in the attempts to analyze the bags of Margaret Thatcher. For example, this is what The Times wrote in an article published in June 1982: “She, as a rule, can not visit a ministry or an establishment without striking everyone with her bag…”

The press considered the bag of Margaret Thatcher to be able to establish power and to impose its owner’s will. If we compare the bags of Margaret Thatcher and Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we will see, that they look very similar to each other: square form, small size and short handles. Powerful women choose a certain type of bags and deliberately use this at first sight innocent women’s attribute to show their predominating power in the country.

Powerful ladies of today do not grant bags with their special attention. For instance, state secretary Condolisa Rise is known for not wearing bags at all. Hilary Clinton also practically never appears in the public with a bag.

WHAT WE HAVE IN OUR BAGS - A TYPICAL SET

As it has already been said, a poll held by a research company, cleared out some particular facts about ourselves and our. In our previous review we talked about the features of a bag that make it so indispensable for a woman. Today we will speak about the content of a bag – about make-up in particular.
There is a very high possibility, that when you stop a woman in a street and open her bag, you will see there:

WHAT WE HAVE IN OUR BAGS - A TYPICAL SET1. a cosmetic bag
2. manicure set
3. a comb
4. hair gel or lacquer
5. hail polish
6. hand crème
7. a bottle of perfume

The functionality of these items is certain and causes no hesitations. How on Earth can a real woman live a day without improving her make-up, hair style or scent? She can’t! And this means, she can’t dispense with a lipstick, powder and so on. Sometimes you will need to correct your hair style – therefore you’ll use a comb. Perfume is also not odd, for however strong the scent may be, it will subdue with some time. I’m not even saying about these stressful situations, when you break a nail or find a hangnail on your finger! Sow it is absolutely impossible to leave home without manicure scissors and emery board.

Note, that taking into consideration the whole list of necessary items, women strive to find all of them in the most compact variant, for all the items to be easily packed in one small cosmetic bag.

Always at arms or What shall a real woman’s bag contain?

Always at arms or What shall a real woman’s bag contain?Oh, women! Strange, charming, unpredictable…And do you know, what reveals the veiled soul of a woman best? Of course her bag and its content!

Some time ago a research company decided to carry out a poll among the women between 16 and 45 years of age. The main criteria for the choice was their really feminine, gentle and elegant outlook. The essence of the poll was the following: to learn, what these women always have in their bags and how is their choice predetermined. The results of the poll appeared to be quite amusing.

Strange, charming, unpredictable women, that are known for their emotionality and non-logical thinking, looked very down-to-earth in this respect. When the women answered the question “Which are the three main features, an item should possess to be put in your bag?”, that preferences spread as follows:

On the first place were named such characteristics as functionality (20%), being stylish and fashionable (16%), brightness (5%), small weight (0%)/

On the second place the women rated being compact (10%), being stylish and fashionable (8%), functionality (5%), lightness (1%), brightness (1%).

The third on the list were such features as lightness (14%), being compact (12%), being stylish and fashionable (6%), brightness (1%).

Of course the summary is too general for each woman to apply these result easily to herself. What is more, a woman’s individuality will change every rule. Though, it seems to us, the poll was not useless. Many of the women will agree with the results. And for men this can be shocking truth!
