S/S 2011 Handbag Trends Forecast

Fashion weeks around the world are coming and going again, and the next trends are always introduced on those runways. Spring is just so far away, but with a new season comes new handbag trends. What can we see for the upcoming hot seasons of 2011? Designers have already presented their collections on the runway and we are excited to make the forecast for some of the trends presented.

The large and convenient hobo bag was dominant on the New York and Milan fashion week runways. The hobo bags that designers created for their spring and summer 2011 collection were large and featured a single strap which could easily be worn on the shoulder. The strap on the large soft hobos for spring and summer are not too large, which allows fashionistas to choose between wearing the hobos on their shoulders or forearms.

Spring 2011 ensures a much more feminine color palette than the previous season. The color palette is represented by white and creamy hues that look especially perfect for bright and sunny spring time looks.

White, cream, rose and sand fold together for a trend that looks something like a wedding cake topper, and pops of metallic add just a bit more visual interest.

The trend I have not expected to see is tassels. Moving with Spring 2011 handbag trends, tassels have been seen all over runways in all lengths and sizes. Leathers and charms make for a great handbag embellishment and whether hung off to the side or right down the middle, this trend is sure to make a fashion statement regardless.

Since animal prints will still be a hot trend for spring summer 2011, this type of bag can be a perfect choice. While classic designs and traditional exotic prints are always a great choice considering the durability and refined touch they tend to provide, it’s not necessary to stick to neutral tones.

Stripped Mother of Pearl Is a New Trend for Resort 2011

Recently in Paris took place the Resort 2011 fashion show where the points of view of different renowned designers for the season 2011 trends were revealed. That was quite a surprise to see that three fashion giants have similar view to the fashion of the nearest future. The Louis Vuitton and Lanvin clutches have different styles, but the way that each one resorts to achieve the finished product is surprisingly similar. The distinctive feature of both bags is thin strips of multicolored mother of pearl.

It is considered that two items does not make a trend, so few people believed that the similarities of the two evening bags were a coincidence. But that was before Judith Leiber – a fashion connoisseur highly renowned all over the world for extravagant and luxurious items – presented another version of a stripped mother of pearl clutch. Now we can definitely consider it to be the new trend for Resort 2011.

Comparing the work of Judith Leiber we can see that the designer used the diagonal inlay technique that resembles the one of Louis Vuitton, but the choice of colors is more similar to the Lanvin. Still there is a large difference that makes the clutch by Judith Leiber stand out much – the clutch is framed with gold.

It also features a massive hardware detail on the top similar to the version of Lanvin that features an interesting variant of hardware on the top and a metallic gold tone shoulder strap. The most enigmatic fastening has the clutch from Louis Vuitton. Visually it has no straps, zippers, buckles and so on. So I wonder how can I use it and is it comfortable?

Anyway, the mother of pearl clutches is the most extravagant idea of Resort 2011. I wonder whether it will turn into a new fashion trend.
