It is common knowledge that designer handbags are expensive, but the craze of some rich woman makes handbags not an accessory but an icon they worship. In the result, some designers started to create fabulous items that cost a fortune. Here is the list of Top 5 Most Expensive Handbags ever created.

Here is handbag collection presented by fashion house of Louis Vuitton especially for Fall – Winter 2010/11. These bags promise to fulfill any fashionistas cravings for style and luxury.
F/W 2010 Handbags from Louis Vuitton
“And God Created Women” announced the program for designer Marc Jacob’s Fall 2010 show for Louis Vuitton, where iconic supermodels including Elle Macpherson, Laetitia Casta, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lara Stone, and Bar Refaeli paraded retro sexy clothes around the courtyard fountain at the Louvre.

The whole look of the models carry us into 50s where chic women stroll in corseted full skirted dresses accessorized with high ponytails, chunky heeled pumps adorned with flat bows and a slew of structured handbags.

One of the most extravagant handbag styles is Speedy. The Speedy silhouette gets a makeover in various materials, ranging from smooth and simple calf leather with a single raised LV logo, an ostrich and canvas pairing, laser cut and burnout LV monogram canvas, crocodile and patent vernis, embellished in sequins, and woven. Despite the use of a single silhouette, the variety of bags will appeal to all bag lovers – from die hard Louis Vuitton fans to ladies who lunch and all gals in between.

Les Extraordinaires Damier Virtuose, featuring hand painted crocodile leather and sequins in a Damier pattern, is a striking bag. But not only elegance of the bag is sticking, what really shocks is the price. At, $25,000 I am not sure who will be able to afford it.

And, here is another my favorite from the collection – the Monogram Guipure with Monogram lace, dutchess satin and Alligator trim, flap, and handles. It is available at $13 000.

Stripped Mother of Pearl Is a New Trend for Resort 2011

Recently in Paris took place the Resort 2011 fashion show where the points of view of different renowned designers for the season 2011 trends were revealed. That was quite a surprise to see that three fashion giants have similar view to the fashion of the nearest future. The Louis Vuitton and Lanvin clutches have different styles, but the way that each one resorts to achieve the finished product is surprisingly similar. The distinctive feature of both bags is thin strips of multicolored mother of pearl.
Stripped Mother of Pearl Is a New Trend for Resort 2011
It is considered that two items does not make a trend, so few people believed that the similarities of the two evening bags were a coincidence. But that was before Judith Leiber – a fashion connoisseur highly renowned all over the world for extravagant and luxurious items – presented another version of a stripped mother of pearl clutch. Now we can definitely consider it to be the new trend for Resort 2011.
Stripped Mother of Pearl Is a New Trend for Resort 2011
Comparing the work of Judith Leiber we can see that the designer used the diagonal inlay technique that resembles the one of Louis Vuitton, but the choice of colors is more similar to the Lanvin. Still there is a large difference that makes the clutch by Judith Leiber stand out much – the clutch is framed with gold.

Check for Lanvin specials at:

It also features a massive hardware detail on the top similar to the version of Lanvin that features an interesting variant of hardware on the top and a metallic gold tone shoulder strap. The most enigmatic fastening has the clutch from Louis Vuitton. Visually it has no straps, zippers, buckles and so on. So I wonder how can I use it and is it comfortable?
Stripped Mother of Pearl Is a New Trend for Resort 2011
Anyway, the mother of pearl clutches is the most extravagant idea of Resort 2011. I wonder whether it will turn into a new fashion trend.
