S/S 2011 Handbag Trends Forecast

Fashion weeks around the world are coming and going again, and the next trends are always introduced on those runways. Spring is just so far away, but with a new season comes new handbag trends. What can we see for the upcoming hot seasons of 2011? Designers have already presented their collections on the runway and we are excited to make the forecast for some of the trends presented.

The large and convenient hobo bag was dominant on the New York and Milan fashion week runways. The hobo bags that designers created for their spring and summer 2011 collection were large and featured a single strap which could easily be worn on the shoulder. The strap on the large soft hobos for spring and summer are not too large, which allows fashionistas to choose between wearing the hobos on their shoulders or forearms.

Spring 2011 ensures a much more feminine color palette than the previous season. The color palette is represented by white and creamy hues that look especially perfect for bright and sunny spring time looks.

White, cream, rose and sand fold together for a trend that looks something like a wedding cake topper, and pops of metallic add just a bit more visual interest.

The trend I have not expected to see is tassels. Moving with Spring 2011 handbag trends, tassels have been seen all over runways in all lengths and sizes. Leathers and charms make for a great handbag embellishment and whether hung off to the side or right down the middle, this trend is sure to make a fashion statement regardless.

Since animal prints will still be a hot trend for spring summer 2011, this type of bag can be a perfect choice. While classic designs and traditional exotic prints are always a great choice considering the durability and refined touch they tend to provide, it’s not necessary to stick to neutral tones.

It goes without saying that it can never be too many handbags for a woman. Most of us see a handbag as the most important accessory that creates the image. The only difference between us is diverse tastes and preferences. That is why fashion designers keep on working hard to create a bag that will satisfy the pickiest person. Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Collection presented not only designer women’s wear but also best handbags for Fall 2010. The bag collection consists of flap bags with vintage-looking push-lock closures, doctor satchels, Louis Vuitton speedy bags, clutches, and structured purses in luxurious skins and lot of retro-inspired classic bags. In general, there were a lot of vintage-inspired bags that were beautiful.

Thougn I am generally against nylon bags, they can bear a lot of wear and tear and is best for carrying lot of stuff. Nylon bags with the red leather croc pressed handles added a nice rich touch and beauty. The collection comprises of very roomy handbags that are perfect for party as well as for office. Colors used by the designer were very subtle and handbags looked quite durable.

Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2010 collection presented interesting bags on the runway during the Fashion Week. The designers of Dolce & Gabbana handbags decided to make an emphasis on ‘Miss Sicily’ Bag as well as a cross-body iPod holder. Lace, crochet and velvet were used as signature details for D&G’s best selling handbag. iPod holders and attached coin purses features very cute and elegant designs. Chain-strapped, bejeweled, cross body iPod bags look really trendy for this fall.

Camouflage Collection for Fall 2010 by Prada

Military chic is all the rage for the Fall season, which has inspired Prada to create their new handbag line for the season to come. Personally I would have never imagined that one day world renowned fashion designers would be inspired to make their goods out of the globally recognizable prints of camouflage. The first to present these unexpected designs was the House of Vuitton with the collaboration of Takashi Murakami when they revealed to the world the Monogramouflage line.

Whether you believe it or not, the items became a hit instantly, which is proved by affection of celebrities to the idea. Now another fashion brand, I mean Prada, joins to the military concept. It may turn into a new trend for fall 2010, who knows. As part of the collection Prada designers offer several different styles, with some of them in 3 different camouflage color variations.

In the collection presented by Prada you can see Saffiano Camouflage Tote that is made of sturdy calfskin perfect for everyday wear. The tote bag looks quite interesting. This tote is not too military yet it is perfectly styled to sport camouflage with the rigid shape. The handle proportions are just right - feminine and ladylike so you can wear this with your flouncy as well as sporty. It is still quite specific and obviously trendy but it is really pricey.
