S/S 2011 Handbag Trends Forecast

Fashion weeks around the world are coming and going again, and the next trends are always introduced on those runways. Spring is just so far away, but with a new season comes new handbag trends. What can we see for the upcoming hot seasons of 2011? Designers have already presented their collections on the runway and we are excited to make the forecast for some of the trends presented.

The large and convenient hobo bag was dominant on the New York and Milan fashion week runways. The hobo bags that designers created for their spring and summer 2011 collection were large and featured a single strap which could easily be worn on the shoulder. The strap on the large soft hobos for spring and summer are not too large, which allows fashionistas to choose between wearing the hobos on their shoulders or forearms.

Spring 2011 ensures a much more feminine color palette than the previous season. The color palette is represented by white and creamy hues that look especially perfect for bright and sunny spring time looks.

White, cream, rose and sand fold together for a trend that looks something like a wedding cake topper, and pops of metallic add just a bit more visual interest.

The trend I have not expected to see is tassels. Moving with Spring 2011 handbag trends, tassels have been seen all over runways in all lengths and sizes. Leathers and charms make for a great handbag embellishment and whether hung off to the side or right down the middle, this trend is sure to make a fashion statement regardless.

Since animal prints will still be a hot trend for spring summer 2011, this type of bag can be a perfect choice. While classic designs and traditional exotic prints are always a great choice considering the durability and refined touch they tend to provide, it’s not necessary to stick to neutral tones.

Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2010 collection presented interesting bags on the runway during the Fashion Week. The designers of Dolce & Gabbana handbags decided to make an emphasis on ‘Miss Sicily’ Bag as well as a cross-body iPod holder. Lace, crochet and velvet were used as signature details for D&G’s best selling handbag. iPod holders and attached coin purses features very cute and elegant designs.
