The fashion brand of Emilio Pucci seems to be geometric patterns which can be easily recognized due to the interesting look obtained.

Under the creative direction of Peter Dundas, the Pucci woman is not afraid of showing a little skin or attitude as shown by the plunging necklines and high hems. Accessorized with satchel bags, bandanas and understated jewelry – daring allure seemed to be the overall theme of the show.

Island life, as in Ibiza, or Mykonos, or Goa, was the inspiration for this breezy, gallivanting show, as the models walked round in floor grazing ’saharienne’ dresses, split open in front to reveal spike heeled, lace up boots or stiletto sandals and handbags embellished with tassels.

The colors used by Emilio Pucci were earthly toned and looked absolutely fabulous. Definitely a handbag collection worth admiring!

In my opinion most of the handbags created for the spring - summer 2011 received a casual chic look, some of them feature a certain bohemian influence. This allows the handbags to stand out and step out of the ordinary, as this is what makes a handbag special.

I loved that not only top models but also celebrities were wearing this collection. Among them were noticed Kylie Minogue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sienna Miller, Taylor Momsen, Jennifer Lopez, Hayden Panettiere, Naomi Campbell, Elsa Pataky and Eva Longoria.

S/S 2011 Handbag Trends Forecast

Fashion weeks around the world are coming and going again, and the next trends are always introduced on those runways. Spring is just so far away, but with a new season comes new handbag trends. What can we see for the upcoming hot seasons of 2011? Designers have already presented their collections on the runway and we are excited to make the forecast for some of the trends presented.

The large and convenient hobo bag was dominant on the New York and Milan fashion week runways. The hobo bags that designers created for their spring and summer 2011 collection were large and featured a single strap which could easily be worn on the shoulder. The strap on the large soft hobos for spring and summer are not too large, which allows fashionistas to choose between wearing the hobos on their shoulders or forearms.

Spring 2011 ensures a much more feminine color palette than the previous season. The color palette is represented by white and creamy hues that look especially perfect for bright and sunny spring time looks.

White, cream, rose and sand fold together for a trend that looks something like a wedding cake topper, and pops of metallic add just a bit more visual interest.

The trend I have not expected to see is tassels. Moving with Spring 2011 handbag trends, tassels have been seen all over runways in all lengths and sizes. Leathers and charms make for a great handbag embellishment and whether hung off to the side or right down the middle, this trend is sure to make a fashion statement regardless.

Since animal prints will still be a hot trend for spring summer 2011, this type of bag can be a perfect choice. While classic designs and traditional exotic prints are always a great choice considering the durability and refined touch they tend to provide, it’s not necessary to stick to neutral tones.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Handbags Review

Louis Vuitton’s bag line-up for Fall 2010 is very glamorous. Taking inspiration from the iconic Speedy, these bags are flattened and stretched, given a new flap and top handle and reincarnated as a doctor’s bag and clutch. Also, the materials are very luxurious… the Monogram canvas has been flocked and sequined, woven with metallic threads, guipure lace over duchess satin, Damier fox, soft and supple calfskin and exotic skins like Ostrich, Crocodile and Alligator.

Prices range from US $2250 for the calfskin bags up to the insanely expensive US $27,000 for the all-Alligator Les Extraordinaires bags. Here are some of my favorite handbag styles from the collection.

Almost every model carried a fabulous piece of arm candy from the latest range of handbags – most notably the Speedy, a Thirties design that had been reinvented in myriad ways. Beautiful vintage-inspired handbags complemented the 1950s sex kitten collection, which focused heavily on the bosom, thrusting upwards from corseted dresses and nip-waisted jackets.

Damier Clair-Obscur (french for Chiaroscuro) is the most exquisite and unusual bag style. It a fox fur covered bag with the Damier pattern. This is a limited edition numbered piece and comes in two colors, Nor and Ebene.

Another fabulous bag is Les Extraordinaires Cuir Orfevre. Its shape is based from Alligator Speedy Couture but instead of Alligator, Cuir Orfèvre Neo-Speedy is made entirely from luxuriously smooth calfskin leather, with its interior crafted from lambskin leather making it a very subtle yet sophisticated handbag. There’s no trace of the Louis Vuitton Monogram pattern which I think some people would love. This is a very limited piece. In the US, this bag is only available in two stores.

The collection included Monogram Volupte, Cuir Cinema, Monagram Fleur de Jais, Monogram Comedie and many other designs. Sophisticated and timeless, any one of these bags is a worthy investment for Fall and Winter 2010.
